So, here we are, officially in 2017. As most of us begin the adjustment back into our daily routine, from the whirlwind and festive nature of the holidays, we are left with what is hopefully good memories of time spent with family and friends, but also a sense of renewed hope for a clean slate ahead of us in the new year.
For millions of Baby Boomers who are more active, livelier and far more secure financially than previous generations our age, this year marks another opportunity for us to refocus and renew aspects of our life. Yet so many of us are not satisfied as our generation grapples with the reality of being discarded to a life of quiet desperation with each passing year. So, where do we start?
There comes a point for all women and men, regardless of our generation, when we can no longer rely on the myths about physical youth defining the best years of our lives. Nor can we continue calling upon society’s idea of what constitutes a quality life as our basis for feeling good about ourselves.
The only thing that matters when this inevitable moment arrives is our authenticity. This can only come from whom we accept as our truest self in the moment, which requires us to change our perspective about life.
